The week before last I attended IBS – that’s the International Builder Show hosted by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). This is the second year it has been a part of the Design and Construction week in Las Vegas which includes the Kitchen and Bath show. Over 125,000 people were in town for these shows. It was awesome to see so many people involved and interested in the industry of homes! With so much floor space to cover, so many things to see and sessions to attend, it was a busy week. I think I wore my legs out! Read the article below to learn more.
The Builders Show is an opportunity to see lots of products – everything from tools to wall assembly materials to cabinets and bath faucets! I don’t typically “endorse” or talk up specific products yet I saw a few really cool things. The one that struck me the most is this cabinet shelf in the photo above. This shelf is called the LeMans named from the shape of the LeMans race track. It solves a huge problem in many kitchens – how to reclaim the wasted or hard to reach space in corner cabinets. I have this exact issue with one of my cabinets and this is exactly what would fix it. I love that I not only get to try out a lot of the products and practices but, that I also get to share them with you. It is a great way for me to learn more about what works, what doesn’t and talk about it with you.
The show also holds extra meaning for me as I am a part of the national leadership team for the NAHB Professional Women in Builders (PWB) Council. This council has offered me a wonderful opportunity to serve the industry and our mutual clients, all while supporting and promoting women in the building industry. I was honored to have a chance to share my “Sell Green for More Green” message with 3 different venues, including in the PWB suite. To see a snippet of the message, check out my video message.
And if you are interested in learning more about any of the products I saw at the show or any of the topics discussed there – please drop me a call or an email and I’d be happy to share more with you. You may also want to check out the link to the show for a complete list of exhibitors and a recap.
