Saturday is The Green Home Festival Saturday June 20 (at the Butterfly House and Faust Park). This is a fun day out to enjoy activities, food, education and buy sustainable products. Plus, it is hosted at our lovely Butterfly House. I’ve been involved with this festival for several years now and it has grown. When I first started participating, “green” was still something of a novelty. Now it is becoming much more routine as we realize the importance of better, greener choices for our health and comfort.
Meet the Green Home Coach (me) at 11am Saturday June 20 for “How to “Talk Green” with your Builder or Remodeler” at presentations for the people in either the indoor theater in the Butterfly House or the Monsanto Pavilion outside in the Native Butterfly Garden. Come by our table in the green home area! I look forward to seeing you there.
And a word from The Green Home Festival –
The 14th annual Green Homes Festival returns to St. Louis on Saturday, June 20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For the first time, the event will be held at the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House in Faust Park. The festival showcases affordable, practical options for sustainable living combined with positive ways to maintain the health of people and the planet. This family-friendly event is hosted by the EarthWays Center of the Missouri Botanical Garden. Festival admission is free. Presented by Ameren Missouri and sponsored by many local partners, this year’s festival features over 70 exhibits and demonstrations by the region’s leading sustainability focused businesses and organizations.
Festivals are a great activity for family fun all why connecting with the community and maybe learning something new! For those not in St. Louis, check your local visitor or event resources for events in your own area this summer.
